Treatment for Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disorder which is very common. Many people with this disorder notice white patches of pink scaly dry skin lumps on the surface. Psoriasis usually appears on the knees, scalp or elbow area. Keep in mind that this can also occur almost anywhere throughout the whole body leaving no area safe. However, there are many wonderful natural psoriasis cures and remedies you can use under your own roof.

There is unfortunately no known cure for Psoriasis currently. Skin specialists or dermatologists can only recommend or provide short term treatments which would be different from one patient to another. That means the treatment can only clear Psoriasis for only a certain period of time. There are various conservative forms of treatments that may leave you wondering which one is true.

Treatment:

1. Some of the psoriasis remedies that are popular include coal tar, salicylic acid and dithranol. Salicylic acid is used in some acne preparations and assists the skin in peeling and healing. There are some strong prescription medications that your physician may recommend for severe psoriasis but due to side effects this must be carefully considered. Phototherapy is another treatment option and it uses uv lighting to help the skin clear.

2. Preparations of this herb are commonly used in Europe to properly treat psoriasis, eczema and dry, flaky skin. Herbal medicine practitioners in the US maintain that applying this herb externally works better than using over-the-counter medications for psoriasis.

3. Daily sun for thirty to forty five minutes a day is helpful. Be careful to not burn the skin. A friend with bad psoriasis on her elbows and knees forced herself to wear short sleeves and shorts to expose these areas despite her reluctance. After a few weeks she noticed an improvement in the skin condition.

4. Psoriasis relief, or relief from the pain and discomfort is possible, though it can be difficult. Doctors and scientists still do not know enough about the specifics of what causes it to come up with a universal treatment. (Something that works for everybody.) What may work for one person, may not work for another. Therefore, effectively treating it can take some trial and error.

5. Food: There is no specific diet for people suffering from psoriasis. But it is always better not only psoriasis people but for everyone to take good and healthy food. But there are a few foods that will help to recover from psoriasis, while there are a few foods that might aggravate the infection.

6. Popularity amongst patients of alternative therapies like acupuncture, herbal remedies and magnets have grown. 36 percent of adults in the United States use some form of alternative and complementary medicine to counter psoriasis.

7. The practice of using doctor fish to treat itchy skin was first used in the small towns of Kangal and Sivas in Turkey, where the fish are endemic. The spa in Kangal has been a psoriasis treatment centre since 1988. With no apparent cure for this disabling skin disorder, people from all parts of the world flock here for psoriasis treatment. Here, they get their first experience with the doctor fish nibbling away at their skin.

Treatment for Pink Eye

Pink eye treatment is usually fast, safe, and effective. Pink eye is just another name for conjunctivitis, which is an inflammation or infection of the transparent membrane that lines your eyelid and part of your eyeball. The pink or redness occurs because the small blood vessels in the whites of your eyes are now irritated and enlarged.

There are quite a number of home remedies floating around for the treatment of Pink Eye. But they pretty much come down to the same thing. Some suggest the use of a compress, which is simply a moist soft cloth or pad held over the eye, while others indicate that you should swab or bathe the eye. They only differ in what they suggest you should put in the water.

Treatment:

1. Clean water should be used. It doesn't have to be sterilized - ordinary tap water is fine. If you're in any doubt about the quality of the tap water, you should boil it, or use bottled water.

2. Put a teaspoon of sea salt in one cup warm water and stir until dissolved. You can use an eye dropper and put two to three drops of the saline solution you have created directly into your eye or you can use a cotton ball. Saturate the cotton ball and place it on your eye allowing the water to run into your eye. This is a tried and true remedy that has been used for many years and is still a staple in England.

3. Since tea contains bioflavonoids that can help to ward off infection and reduce inflammation, many people use moist or partially used teabags as a home remedy for pink eye by placing the tea bag over their eye.

4. Apple juice is recommended for blepharitis-infection of the eyelids-which may be asso¬ciated with conjunctivitis or come on its own accord. Peel off a two inch slice of apple, bend in half with the skin sides together till the juice appears, then press on the eye lids gently.

5. If you're planning to swab or bathe the eye, then use something small, soft, and disposable. A make-up removal pad is ideal, or a small wad of cotton wool. Wipe the eye gently, in an outward motion (i.e. from the nose to the ear). Try not to use the same part of the swab twice.

6. Placed damp tea bags on your infected eye this will ease the discomfort associated with it. First boil the tea bags and let them cool then place them on infected eye or you can also simply make a little stronger tea and then use an eye cup to hold the lukewarm tea in each eye.

7. Care with pillow cases, towels, that have been contaminated and not shared only need to be washed appropriately in hot water and detergent per usual. Since hygiene is so difficult with young children, keeping them home from day care or school for the first 1-2 days of treatment may be necessary to avoid spreading to other children. Overall "pink eye" is usually a nuisance problem that is of little health risk and easily managed.

Liver Enlargement and its Treatment

The increase in the size of the liver happens gradually due to various factors. Some of them are glandular fevers, hepatitis, malaria, liver abscesses and even more serious causes such as leukemia and lymphomas. When the enlargement of the liver occurs, there is an obstruction in breathing as the expanded liver pushes against the wall of the diaphragm and interferes with the respiratory canal. The irritation can cause coughing.

The liver is essential for digestion. Hence it is very important not to consume any food that is difficult to digest when there is a liver enlargement. All fried foods, spicy and salty foods must be avoided. Sour foods are also not good as they can increase the acidity within the stomach and the digestive system. Even curds should not be eaten. However, properly churned buttermilk is good for liver ailments.

Fringe tree. Fringe tree is excellent for stimulating the manufacture of bile in our liver. It prevents enlargement of the liver, hepatitis and chronic illnesses.

Children whose diet is deficient in calcium suffer from nosebleed. If the diet includes mil, oranges, green vegetables and other calcium bearing substances nosebleed will automatically vanish after some time.

When there is a liver problem, detoxification of the liver is necessary. This is done by fasting for a day. After that, no food that is difficult to digest must be consumed. Bitter vegetables must be given, such as bitter gourd and bitter drumstick. Goat’s or cow’s milk must be taken instead of buffalo’s milk. Instead of curds, buttermilk must be given. Garlic must be included in the diet.

Some children suffer from and enlarged liver at the age of nine or ten months and they start getting weaker and weaker. They are breast-fed. What is the reason for enlargement of liver?

The mothers of such infants subsist on cereals, ghee and sugar alone. They should take more milk, vegetables and fruits to be able to produce healthy milk for the child.

Prepare a half-cup of juice of the bitter gourd. Put some salt in it. Have this on an empty stomach in the morning. This is by far the best home remedy for liver enlargement and even other kinds of liver problems including diabetes mellitus.

An immediate expedient is to wash the face of the child with cold water. A bandage half an inch thick and two inches broad should be wetted with water and applied to the spinal column of the sufferer from nosebleed for fifteen to twenty minutes to give immediate relief.

Have your urine examined: the symptoms are those of diabetes, which is a disease of assimilation. Strengthening the digestion can cure it.

Treatment for Leg Pain

The muscles in your thighs facilitate movements around your knee joint by proving a stable frame for the joint to operate in. The knees retain their stability due to these strong muscles. When the muscles, ligaments and tendons do not interact precisely to keep your bones in place as you move your leg, you experience knee leg pain.

Leg pain comes in many forms. My patients describe it as tingly, sharp, dull, throbbing and aching. Whatever your leg pain feels like, it can be a source of discomfort and inhibit your ability to stand for long periods, put weight on your leg or simply perform everyday activities. Though it has a variety of causes, there are some common conditions known to result in leg pain. Let's take a look and discuss solutions that will get you back on your feet.

Treatment:

1. When dealing with sciatic nerve leg pain, many doctors will also prescribe you muscle relaxers, but be very wary of taking these. Not only are these medications powerful and expensive, they can also prove to be addictive. Not only are the medications themselves addictive, the instant relief from pain can be very seductive, which can be problematic when you are trying to switch to another solution.

2. For treatment for pain of this sort, you would initially try, non steroidal - anti inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen. If the inflammation remains, it may be necessary to extract fluid, and to inject corticosteroids.

3. Padma is a highly researched alternative health supplement, consisting of 18 herbs, no joke. In the Tibetan tradition, health and wellness maintain your body's equilibrium. Circumstances such as deficient diet, lifestyle, stress and seasonal conditions can disturb that balance. The carefully chosen herbs in Padma support the body's natural function to maintain good health and balance.

4. In the case of claudication due to poor circulation, you can avoid complications by not smoking and monitoring your cholesterol levels. High cholesterol can lead to atherosclerosis. A healthy diet of produce and whole grains that is low in saturated fat and salt can help many people. Natural supplements to fight high cholesterol may also be useful. You should continue to exercise under a doctor's supervision in order to train your muscles to use oxygen more efficiently and strengthen your legs in the long run.

5. A method to suit individual requirement can easily be found either through own effort or by consulting a doctor. The best way is to deal with sciatica leg pain yourself as you know the extent of pain that you are suffering from. Regular exercise and stretches possibly are the best of not just treating but also preventing sciatica leg pain in the first place.

6. To get rid of your leg pain and sciatica pain. Your doctor will usually recommend therapy in the form of chiropractic therapy and physical therapy. Treatment will usually consist of massage therapy, electric muscle stimulation, stretching exercises and strengthening exercises.

7. Sometimes the knee joints are inflamed as a result of an infection. This infection often reaches the joints from other sites in the body such as the skin or the respiratory tract. The inflammation will also be accompanied by severe swelling and knee leg pain.

The heart is the most important organ of the body which pumps blood to all the other organs in order to keep them functioning. The heart has to work tirelessly for every living second of our life. It is no wonder then, that the heart is the organ that undergoes the highest degree of wear and tear in the human body. In Ayurveda, all heart diseases are collectively known as Hridaya Roga. Depending on their doshic cause, the heart diseases could be Vataka Hridaya Roga, Paittika Hridaya Roga and Kaphaja Hridaya Roga.

Treatment:

1. Pushkarmoola or pushkarmool (Inula racemosa) is an herb found in Kashmir. A nearly twenty-year-old study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology suggests that this herb probably is a natural beta-blocker, although its effects are largely limited to the heart. (Some of the older beta-blockers affect the lungs and can aggravate asthma.)

2. Reduce your stress. Stress not only creates problems within your body, such as dangerously elevated levels of certain hormones; it also may contribute to how you manage your other risks. When you are under stress, you are not so focused on what you will eat, how you will exercise, and other habits you might have. You can improve your health by learning to meditate, pray, or just plain relax.

3. Arjun tea is a herbal tea that is designed by ayurvedic experts after the great researches in that ancient ayurvedic texts. Arjun tea is composed of three prestigious herbs terminalia Arjuna, inula racemosa and cinnamomum zeylanica. These herbs are one of the finest herbs that are extremely beneficial in supporting the basic life functioning and providing strength to the heart.

4. Get good sleep. Getting enough rest is vital to good heart health. A strong correlation seems to exist between a lack of sleep and developing certain heart conditions. It appears that 7 to 8 hours is about right, while 5 or less can be harmful. Even sleeping too much may be a heart risk. Do yourself a favor and get just the right amount of sleep. If you think you have a sleep disorder, this is a great reason to get help with it.

5. Arjuna (bark from the plant Terminalia arjuna) is a "heart tonic" made into a paste (arjunaghrtam), a powder (arjunatvak), a tonic combining the herb and water (arjunatvagadi), or a "wine" (pardhadyaristam) made by fermenting the bark of the herbs with grape juice.

6. Walking is undoubtedly one of the best, quick exercises you can take up in order to strengthen and maintain your heart muscles; begin with a leisurely walk and build up to a brisk pace that you maintain for at least 20 minutes before you slow down to cool off. This works to get the blood pumping effectively and gives you a great work-out!

7. Garlic is one of the best-known remedies in heart care. It can break down the cholesterol accumulated in the coronary arteries. Having a few cloves of raw garlic every morning can also reduce the possibility of a heart attack.

A hangover involves a nasty headache plus a constant feeling of wanting to throw up plus a tipsy way of thinking. This is a direct result of over consumption of alcoholic drinks. Over consumption in this sense is measure by the amount of alcoholic drink a certain person can handle. Fortunately, there are simple at-home answers on how to cure hangover.

These modern methods for hangover treatment and its painful symptoms contain natural pain killers, like willow bark or feverfew. Taking over the counter pain killers is a terrible idea when dealing with a hangover headache. Aspirin and ibuprofen can really do a number on the stomach, and acetaminophen for a hangover can cause irreversible liver damage.

Treatment:

1. Honey is a popular organic hangover cure. The amount of amino acids and nutritive substances found in honey makes it a No. 1 remedy. Eat one or two teaspoonfuls each 5 minutes for about an hour, and you'll find yourself a lot more active than you expected.

2. Bananas are a great pickmeup! While you were drunk and peeing after every beer or alcoholic beverage, your body was passing lots of potassium drained from your body during urination or sweating. Eating a banana loaded with potassium wil give your body a great boost. All you have to do is peel and eat another natural remedie for hagovers.

3. Don't just drink. Eat something, preferably greasy. Stuff your stomach with food that fills you up. It will prolong the time needed for the alcohol to reach body organs.

4. One of the most effective and safe hangover pill remedies is the NoHang hangover pill. The NoHang hangover pill works by neutralizing the dangerous toxins contained in alcohol and eliminates them from your system.

5. Whenever you get a hangover, friends will suggest different home remedies. Honey, green tea, black tea, lemon juice, lots of water etc; concerned friends would shower you with advice. Though all these remedies are effective, unfortunately they take their own sweet time in evicting the discomfort of a hangover from your body.

6. The juices such as orange juice can be a little too acidic, which your stomach cannot handle anything harsh after a night of drinking. The Juice also contains high vitamins you need in order to get the energy to get through the hangover quickly.

7. The key to getting rid of hangovers is prevention. Hangovers happen primarily due to dehydration. So the next time you decide to cozy up[ to the keg, remember to drink at least five glasses of water before you pass out or during the night as you go. The next morning will feel much better if you do.

8. Excessive drinking of water is the common and simple cure to prevent the hangover problem easily. Adequate amount of water taking help you to rehydrate, flush the alcohol drinks or toxins from your body easily.

9. When you have had enough water try swallowing a few slices of plain toast and keeping it down. Do not apply any topping like marmalade or peanut butter.

Diarrhea and its Treatment

Diarrhea is the loosening or the watery state of the stool, which occurs due to dehydration or improper diet. It is normal and the treatment for diarrhea can be done even without visiting the doctor in a period of 2 to 3 days. The common symptoms during diarrhea is the loosening of the stool at frequent intervals, pain, irritation in the lower abdomen, vomiting and loss of appetite. It occurs due to the low water level in the body. It is very important to consume a particular amount of water everyday.

Treatment:

1. Diarrhea treatment can be achieved by using Pomegranate. Pomegranate has shown to be very effective in treating diarrhea because of its astringent properties. If a patient becomes weak due to diarrhea, he or she should by given 50ml of Pomegranate juice to drink. This will help to control the diarrhea.

2. One recipe is a gruel made from ½ cup of rice, 4 cups of water, ½ tablespoon of ginger paste, salt to taste, and ½ cup pomegranate juice. Mix and cook all ingredients except the juice. After cooking, add the juice and consume while warm. This mixture provides hydration and reduces inflammation in the digestive tract.

3. As earlier you can make capsules of ginger and take it at regular intervals. You can also drink ginger tea as it can stop cramps and pain.

4. Apple cider vinegar For a preventive measure start taking a teaspoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of honey in a glass of water half an hour before each meal a few days before your trip. Continue this regimen during your trip.

7. Psyllium is a good diarrhea treatment because it absorbs excess fluid in diarrhea within the small intestines and normalizes bowl eliminations.

8. Black nightshade leaves are used in the treatment of diarrhea. The leaves are taken in the form of an infusion with the juice of other liquids.

Chicken Pox and its Treatment

Chicken Pox is a highly contagious disease that usually occurs in children. For the most part, chicken pox occurs in children ranging from 3-4 years old. The older the child, the worse the attacks seems to occur.

The blisters and crusts are infectious and itchy, and scratching them can lead to infection and scarring. Once the scabs are gone, the individual is no longer infectious. Chickenpox usually runs its course in two weeks.

These blisters are very itchy, but they must not be scratched under any circumstance, because it may lead to infection. Another chicken pox symptom that must be controlled is the fever. Although, a chicken pox patient will not suffer from a very high fever, nonetheless it must be reduced. If the infection develops into a more serious one treatment is highly recommended. Doctors are able to prescribe it, and they usually prescribe acyclovir, the specific treatment for this kind of infection.

5. So make sure that your child washes his/ her hands at least three times every day. Also try to keep the skin affected by chicken pox as clean as possible. Infections in children suffering from chicken pox are not very sever, but there is always the risk of a big infection.

Eye Cataract Treatment

Cataracts in both eyes had affected my quality of life. Certainly, cataracts were not a good match for a professional writer. Reading incoming email was difficult and proofreading was a real challenge. I did not drive at night because I saw halos around car head lights and street lights. "Are you ready for cataract surgery and a lens implant?" asked the eye doctor. My answer was an instant yes.

Depletion or loss of vision in the initial stages of cataract is rare. However, there are warning signs as cataract progresses, including blurred vision, sensitivity to bright light, difficulty seeing at night, trouble identifying colors, and headache brought on by eye strain.

Treatment:

1. Vitamin C plays an important role in cataract prevention. Supplement of vitamin C significantly decrease the risk of both cataracts and macular degeneration. Vitamin c supplements in amount over 300 mg could eventually eliminate the need for cataract surgery. Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) and niacin which occur in animal and plant tissues have also been effective in cataract development. Vitamin E supplements are also beneficial for prevention of cataracts in peoples. Daily dose of 400 IU is found beneficial for cataract prevention.

2. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR can assist in preventing and controlling cataract when mixed with honey in water and consumed with each meal.

3. Medicines called 'Rasayanas', These medicines include Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Samudrashosh (Argyreia speciosa), Naagbala (Grewia hirsuta), Amalaki, Haritaki, Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata), Aparaajita (Clitoria ternatea), Mandukparni (Centella asiatica), Punarnava, Mudgaparni (Phaseolus trilobus), Mashparni (Teramnus labialis) and Gokshur (Tribulus terrestris). These medicines prevent atherosclerosis and thus ensure a good supply of blood to all the parts of the body.

4. Yoga Candle gazing is a beneficial yoga exercise for eyestrain. Sit comfortably and gaze at a candle about 3ft/1m away, without blinking, for ten seconds. Palm for 30 seconds, then resume gazing with one eye only then the other, then together, turning the head Gradually increase the time (20 then 30 seconds) over several weeks.

5. CARROTS are a great source of Vitamin A, and are are -- as folklore suggests -- highly beneficial for the eyes. Eating raw carrots and/ or drinking a glass or two of raw carrot juice each day helps keep cataracts away.

6. An important factor in cataract prevention is drinking water. Drink lots of filtered water; avoid fluoridated and chlorinated water. Eliminate dairy products and saturated fats, which promote the formation of free radicals and can damage the lens. Use only cold-pressed oils. Medical journals report an association between cigarettes and cataracts, probably because smoking generates free radicals.

7. The only treatment for cataract is surgery to remove it. Cataract surgery is very successful in restoring vision. In fact, it is the most frequently performed surgery in the United States, with over 1.5 million cataract surgeries done each year. There are 2 types of surgery that can be used to remove lenses that have a cataract First is Extracapsular surgery consists of surgically removing the lens, but leaving the back half of the capsule (the outer covering of the lens) whole.
